Thule SUP Taxi Review (810XT)

March 5, 2015

Rack Attack Team

The SUP Taxi (810XT) by Thule is, hands down, the easiest way to carry your stand-up paddle board on your car's roof rack.

The SUP Taxi comes fully assembled, ready to use right out of the box, and installing it on your roof rack is about as easy as you could hope for: no tools required. This, like many of Thule's current products, uses their Speed Link mounting system: rubberized aluminum straps which go around nearly any cross bar, and then tighten and secure with the twist of a knob. You can literally mount or remove this board carrier in minutes.

Once the Taxi is locked to your rack (if you have other locking Thule products, let us know your key number and we will match it, so all your locks use the same key!) you're ready to load your board. This rack will carry up to two stand up boards up to 34” in width, it's adjustable and a breeze to use.

The carrier includes a built-in steel reinforced strap to secure your boards to the rack, meaning you have no need to carry rope of tie down straps. Best of all, this integrated strap is locking as well, keeping your boards on your car when you stop for lunch. The strap is easy to use and tighten: just tug and turn the key and you're done.

Any point of contact between the carrier and your boards is protected with a rubbery coating, both protecting your boards from scuffs and protecting the rack from weather, and water.

Simply put: this rack is the easiest and best way to carry your stand up paddleboard. It's sleek, easy to use, and best of all it keeps your boards safe and secure. If you want to make the process of transporting your boards as efficient as possible and ensure your boards stay where they belong, this is the product you want.

As always, if you have any questions about this or any other Thule rack, we are happy to assist you. Just give us a call, send us an email, or drop by one of our 11 retail stores.
